The Dentist
Your dentist is more than a dental expert. Your dentist is an oral health expert. Your dentist knows how the health of your teeth, gums, and mouth relates to your general health. Your dentist has the knowledge and skills to examine your mouth and tell what, if anything, is wrong. As well, your dentist can recommend and carry out treatment. Your dentist can also give you advice on the care you need.
The Dental Hygienist
The dental hygienist is a member of the team. The dental hygienist, like the dentist, helps prevent dental disease. The dental hygienist cleans your teeth and talks with you about taking care of your dental health at home. The dental hygienist may do a basic exam of your teeth and gums, and will tell your dentist about it.
The Dental Assistant
The dental assistant helps the dentist and may take x-rays, make impressions, polish your teeth, and apply flouride.
The Receptionist
The receptionist books appointments, takes care of billings and payments, and manages the flow of people through the office.
